SHORT PILGRIMAGE - SOUTH TAMILNADU - MADURAI, UTHIRAKOSAMANGAI AND RAMESHWARAM - PLAN

 South Tamilnadu tour: Quick tour - Madurai Uthirakosamangai, and Rameswaram



4 Days

First day:

Reach Madurai from Chennai, in the morning.

Visit Azhagar kovil and pazhamudhir solai temple. (both are in same location) – Must see.

lunch

Meenakshi temple – Must see

Shopping near the temple… kitchen items, saree, etc….

Second day:

Thiruparankundram Murugan temple – Must see

Lunch

Leave for Rameshwaram –  enroute stop at pamban bridge and take photographs, and watch sun set from the bridge.

Reach Rameshwaram by late evening, have check in to hotel, have dinner and relax.

Third day :

Morning go to dhanushkodi – just a sight seeing place. South east tip….

Lunch

At 3 pm leave for rameshwaram temple.. have dip at the sea..

Fix a broker, who will take you inside temple and show all the 21 wells and have bath at all the wells. (must)

Finish darshan and back to hotel.

Fourth day:

Leave early morning (7AM) to ramanatha puram. (20 kms away)

Uthirakosamangai temple – Siva – Oldest shiva temple in Tamilnadu. – must see

From here, go to Thiruppullani temple – lord Jagannath – must see..

 

Now you can either go back to rameshwaram to catch train.. or go to Madurai and board train…

  HIROSHIMA (JAPAN) TRAVELLOGUE 23 November 2023 Embarked on a high-speed adventure from Bandobashi to Shin Yokohama Station aboard the iconic Shinkansen, commonly known as the Bullet Train. Incredible! Covering a whopping 850 kilometres in just 3.5 hours, the journey treated us to breath-taking views of Mount Fuji. The spacious seats and impeccable cleanliness, even in the restrooms, made it feel like a flight. Checked into Hotel Smile upon arrival in Hiroshima, where we explored the city center amid the Black Friday sale excitement. 24 November 2023 Set out on foot towards Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, admiring the wide roads and taking note of the unique Streetcar transport system. KAMAKURA, JAPAN - full of temples and shrines - Sathya's travelogue

  Sathya’s Travelogue on Kamakura trip  10th and 12th February 2024   KAMAKURA a beautiful town situated nor far from Tokyo, is full of shrines and temples. (Like Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, INDIA) We got down at Kita Kamakura on the 10th of February 2024, and the greenery is awesome. Weather god was on our side, as it was slightly drizzling but sunny. We planned to visit at least eight Shrines on this day but could complete only four. I always believe in spending more time at each spot and enjoy its structure and beauty, rather than chasing numbers. Incase if you are carrying luggage, better to get down at Kamakura station and safely keep them on the safety coin lockers available at the station. (Different sizes are available depending on the size to a maximum of 700 Yen. You can buy one GOSHUIN stamp book in advance and collect the goshuin stamp at each shrine, as a memory.
